Seshat, the Egyptian goddess of writing, was credited with having invented writing. Her name means “she who writes”, and we aim to showcase those who are passionate about their writings.
Here in Seshat Literary Magazine, we like to focus on excellent writing that vivifies the craft. All submissions must follow the requirements listed below:
Fiction and Non-Fiction
12-point font, double-spaced, Times New Roman or other readable font. No longer than 7000 words. Well-written speculative and literary fiction are welcome, as are creative non-fiction pieces.
12-point font, single-spaced, Garamond or other readable font. No limit, but please do not send us a novel-length poem.
As of right now, we are not accepting artwork, but we plan to soon. Keep alert for more information as this changes.
As of right now, we are not accepting script pieces, but we plan to soon. Keep alert for more information as this changes.

-We prefer short, third-person bios of 50 words or less, but are willing to accept bios that go over this limit. We automatically reject any submissions who don’t include a bio.
-We prefer that writers be currently homeschooled, but we also accept writing from former homeschoolers, homeschool graduates, homeschool parents, and pro-homeschool writers, provided that writers of this last category note this. Writing about homeschooling is not a requirement, but it is welcomed, appreciated, and encouraged.
-All writers who submit must be 13 years old or over.
-We do not accept work whose sole purpose is to discriminate against any group. We also prefer that submitted work is considered G, PG, or PG-13. We are less likely to accept work that is PG-13, but occasionally we will. This is so that we can reach both younger and older audiences.
